Description: This chair was designed for use in a smaller modern environment. Removing one side of the chair allows it to be flipped on its side to become a mini bar. This will provide more space for a social gathering as well as a functioning clean surface to mix drinks, deal cards, or serve appetizers. The chair is constructed from 100% recyclable materials; solid walnut, and polished aluminum.

Cool concept.

What happens to the legs on the lounge chair side that becomes the table? Are they just exposed from the table top? Have you thought of maybe interlocking two mini bar tables together with the legs?

How is the side arm that is removed for the mini bar application attached to the lounge chair to provide durability?

Is there any protection on the aluminum part that becomes the bottom of the mini bar to ensure that the flooring and lounge piece are not harmed?

To answer the first question concerning what happens with the legs that remain as part of the table. The bottom of the feel are shelled out and a hook like feature is hidden. When the chair is in "mini bar mode" the hooks in the legs serve as a place to hang a hand towel.

Also, I will address the comment about interlocking two mini bar tables together. I thought about it. But I did not show this intentionally. My concept is for smaller environments, and therefore there would probably only be one chair for any given environment. This is how I have justified the "multi functionality" of the piece. As you convert the chair to a mini bar, no floor space is lost. Keeping people on their feet with the lack of chairs in a social drinking environment encourage people to mingle.

Next, I will answer the question about how it is attached, and how the aluminum is protected. The sides of the chair made from walnut have a deep groove that the aluminum fits into. That groove has a 10 degree draft angle. The aluminum sheet has a protective rubber edge much like a door edge protective molding on a car door. The rubber edge is permanently attached to the sheet with high strength adhesive. The sheet is then pressure fitted into the sides. With a good tug, the user will be able to remove one of sides. Both the flooring and the aluminum sheet is protected by the rubber edge on the aluminum.
