The Au Chair is inspired from the Chinese character 凹, meaning concave.   This element is shown on the front and back of the chair.  A clean and light look is achieved by making the seat hollow.  The Au chair is designed for offices that have waiting rooms, allowing the hollow portion of the chair to be used for magazine storage.  A sense of unity is achieved by assembling the few parts in a harmonious manner while embracing sustainability.  The stainless steel frame, recycled from previous industrial use, and durable Cedar material ensures a long use for each chair.  Rubberized stoppers on the the steel frames are made from tires.
The "Jacqueline" Chair was designed to incorporate clean subtle lines and aesthetically pleasing elements, by using simple details and curves.  The chair's dramatic height and wings bring instant energy to any setting.  With it's versatile aesthetics The "Jacqueline" Chair can be implemented in any almost lobby setting.  Its tufted and cushioned back brings glamorous beauty, while offering ultimate comfort to its user.  
The "Jacqueline" Chair was designed with the world's environment in mind, by using reclaimed wood for its frame and structure and bamboo textiles for upholstery.  The reclaimed wood will be veneered in a chosen hardwood and stained to add an aesthetically pleasing appeal.  
The "Jacqueline" Chair was inspired by love, and designed with passion.  Resulting in simple elegance, that will leave its user looking beautiful and feeling beautiful.
Four, three, two. One form, divided and repeated, makes the chair. Comfort, sustainability, efficiency, honesty, and affordability integrate together in a flexible design:  The chair has two types of parts. The wood structure is comprised of plywood or other laminated composite wood. The seat is padded with a cushion form that nests into the four seat parts to hold the entire chair together without fasteners when assembled. The notched pieces can be assembled and disassembled for shipping after purchase, for moving, or storage. The packaging (as shown in lower right) of wood structure and cushion can fit together, yet be separate to accommodate material and color options. The curving forms allow for an anatomical fit for a variety of shapes and sizes. The chair’s affordability is enhanced by its simplicity in materials, reusable manufacturing formwork, and ease of compact transport. The chair has nothing to hide.
Spheres of influence is a modular seating system derived from the negative spaces formed from stacking spheres.  It transforms from coffee/lounge table, to lounge seating (when used with proposed base support), to modular bench seating.  It is constructed of either bamboo plywood or kirei board (laminated sorghum wheat straw) that is cross-gridded and glued together.  The cushion is made from natural latex foam and upholstered in bamboo fabric.

Spheres of influence is environmentally conscious, sustainable, and progressive in its use of materials and its ease of manufacturing.  It is technologically relevant in its use of cnc routing fabrication processes as well as the contemporary processes used to form the different laminates.

It is accessible and aesthetically pleasing in its ability to find itself at home in situations and spaces spanning the intimate to the more public whether at home or in the museum.  Its unique form begs further investigation allowing it to be fully appreciated as it is transformed into one of various functions.

The Stand concept chair is based off the natural properties of Bamboo, and how it grows.  Starting from the same patch of earth, the young bamboo chutes play and stretch and flex towards sunlight, as if on a race to maturity.

Being wall mounted, the Stand captures that firm base, while still trying to stretch out and capture that sense of competition between its' pieces.

Made from Aluminum and various applications of bamboo (laminate back and seat, formed armrest, stained pole and support bench).

Unconventional in shape, and size, just like the material it's made from. Stand.
Inspired by the excitement of building your first tree fort, the Tree House chair makes distinctive use of unique materials.  The majority of the chair is fashioned from bamboo plywood.  The seat features a slight curve and upholstered seat pad.  Slung between the back branches is a comfortable “hammock” back rest.  Aluminum legs ground the chair and provide stability.

Tree forts are often built from found objects, thus they are inherently sustainable.  Bamboo was an obvious choice for its rapidly renewable qualities and bamboo plywood for its dimensional stability and distinctive aesthetic.  The aluminum legs can be recycled after use.  Low-VOC stains reduce the potential for negative environmental impact.

The primary material is bamboo plywood.  Thin angles grow from the seat, which is slightly curved, to join the angular back frame, or branches, of the chair.  The branches support the back rest and provide an easy area to grab onto and pull.  

The hammock seat back has many material options: thick gauge recycled felt, leather, or a quilted fabric back.  The low-profile upholstered seat cushion adds comfort and provides an opportunity to match or contrast with the seat back fabric.

The Tree House chair introduces bamboo plywood as a sustainable element to the OFS line.  The design celebrates the unique linear graining of bamboo, visibly evident along the edges.  The hammock back adds comfort and a bit of whimsy to the Tree House chair.
Lift provides differentiation to the OFS line through an approachable, yet geometrically urban visual language.  It has a distinctly different character to its silhouette that draws attention to it's form and utility, inviting passers by to have a seat.  

To the casual observer, Lift's materials look very similar to the rest of the OFS line, but a closer look reveals this similarity is only visual.  Material construction takes a markedly sustainable turn as an attempt to deliver a greener product without sacrificing established OFS design principles.  Lift's molded support frame is a composite of a sustainable Maplex core (with integrated strip steel supports) finished with synthetic veneers.  The seating surface is covered in synthetic leather over a mid-density soy based foam, to provide firm support for casual sitting.

Lift's assembly reduces complexity by simplifying interface areas to the virtually unseen areas underneath the arm rests.  Under the arms of the seating surface are male rubberized guide fin that get inserted (and fastened) into a metal slot attached to the lower composite support frame.  The open frame construction of Lift allows for more compact boxing, resulting in smaller box size and decreased shipping cost (less fuel per unit, more units per container, lower overall impact footprint), while adding design impact to its surrounding environment.  Lift makes a great option for environments needing a piece with traditional silhouette, but looking for a more aggressive language with added utility.
Steed provides differentiation to the OFS line through an approachable, yet utilitarian visual language.  The compact lounge has a distinctly different character to its silhouette that draws attention to it's form and utility, inviting passers by to have a seat.  It is a perfect compact lounge that provides users with relaxation and workstation options, while adding design impact to its surrounding environment.  

To the casual observer, Steed's materials look very similar to the rest of the OFS line, but a closer look reveals this similarity is only visual.  Material construction takes a markedly sustainable turn as an attempt to deliver a greener product without sacrificing established OFS design principles.  Steed's molded support frame is a composite of a sustainable Maplex core (with integrated strip steel supports) finished with synthetic veneers.  The seating surface is covered in synthetic leather over a mid-density soy based foam, to provide firm support for casual sitting or focused computing.  The elevated work surface has a similar (composite) body, while using rubber sheet for it's surface, helping to prevent laptop slippage.  Steed makes a great option for environments needing a flexible sitting/work lounge that have a distinct visual personality.

Peek provides differentiation to the OFS line through an approachable, yet utilitarian visual language.  The design allows for single placement, or as an expanded (multiples) setup.  At the core of the design is the support cushion featuring a 2 inch wide opening, which allows easy to access to magazine/book storage below.  There is also a cavity in the front of the support frame (below the seating surface) to show what's there to those approaching. 

To the casual observer, the materials look very similar to the rest of the OFS line, but a closer look reveals this similarity is only visual.  the material construction of Peek takes a markedly sustainable turn as an attempt to deliver a greener product without sacrificing established OFS design principles. The molded support frame is a composite of a sustainable Maplex core (with integrated strip steel supports) finished with synthetic veneers.  The seating surface is covered in synthetic leather over a mid-density soy based foam, to provide firm support.  Peek makes a great option for waiting and high traffic areas, as well as institutions where the need for function does not outweigh a piece's persona.
Penta Chair is constructed from lightweight yet durable honeycomb sandwich panels.  These panels are known for their virtually unlimited surface material selection and sustainable characteristics. Sandwiched between two layers of surface materials, 100 % recycled honeycomb patterned paper gives these unique panels their strength.  Because bulk of this product is lightweight recycled paper and can be recycled again, it has minimal impact to the environment during manufacturing and shipping.
Penta chair was designed versatility in mind.  Any structural panel on Penta Chair can be removed without any tool, changed with a spare if damaged, or modified for larger applications.  This spare part concept not only allows consumers to customize their application, but it also eliminates replacement of the whole unit due to a cosmetic or a structural damage.
Back angle is 120 degrees; therefore, three Penta Chairs can be grouped back to back without any obvious gaps.  If desired, a self-supporting seating core can be repeated two or three times to create a love seat or a sofa.  Optional casters can provide flexibility when needed.
As any part of the Penta Chair, cushions can be interchanged and /or replaced without any tool.  They are made out of bamboo fibers and completely removable and machine washable.
A bench for kids. Nesting Nessie, like a real seamonster ;) appears to swim through the floor. Her parts can be arranged any which way. They are also hollow and can stack/ nest on top of each other for easy storage. They are composed of a seim-flexible, segmented wood shell with fabric wrapped foam on the outside.
Introduction:
Inspired by retro furnitures, Jasper emphasizes the simplicity of hand assembly and quality and authenticity of handmade furniture. Jasper's manufacturing process and treatment of the materials are; however, updated with more modern approach. Jasper combined past with present by keeping what's good and implemented a more modern approach. 



Process:
Jasper's frames are molded plastic.  The seat (middle piece) are layered with plywood (for structural) and cushions lining and are upholstered with vinyl covers. The majority parts of Jasper Chair is made of recycled materials and is designed to last a long time. The parts that get the most wear are easily replaced and recycled.

The soft curves of the chair elevate the human body to a comfortable position that will make it possible to let the day simply drift away. This lounge chair is constructed with extruded stainless steel and birch. The chair is constructed form 100% recyclable materials; extruded stainless steel and birch.
The HEXA is a creative way of using 3 pieces of hexagonal laminated veneer wood panels and make into a square bench. Supported by cast aluminum frame, the 1:2:3 module divides the seating, and the wood panels are sanded gently to accentuate the grains of wood.
This chair was designed for use in a smaller modern environment.   Removing one side of the chair allows it to be flipped on its side to become a mini bar.  This will provide more space for a social gathering as well as a functioning clean surface to mix drinks, deal cards, or serve appetizers.  The chair is constructed from 100% recyclable materials; solid walnut, and polished aluminum.
Shaped like a cushion draped on air, CHIP beckons you to sit.  The surface looks rough, but is surprisingly smooth.  The bold colour says plastic, but the chair is actually made of wood.

Made of woodchips to be exact.  A 3” curved bed of tree bark and a slender ½” stainless steel rod frame, together, form CHIP.  Using a byproduct of the forest industry, a biodegradable resin and a 100% recyclable metal frame, CHIP clearly espouses its environmental stance.  In using woodchips as the main component, CHIP not only raises the profile of a waste material, but also avoids using further raw materials, thus reducing costs.  It is a modern chair that is environmentally and economically sustainable of which you are reminded every time it is used.

CHIP is progressive in turning the lifecycle thinking of product design on its head. Like wood, CHIP is designed to slowly biodegrade.  The resin will break down and the woodchips can either be reused or composted.  Its ‘planned obsolescence’, rather than encouraging consumerism, blatantly reveals that the chair is truly of the earth.  

The making of CHIP pushes the extrusion technology to the next level.  The design allows it to be mass-produced, but it can also be customized in length and colour.  The possibility for customization makes it very versatile for the consumer and easily adaptable to different markets, especially for the emerging made-to-order kind of e-commerce.

CHIP is made like fresh pasta.  Tree bark is extruded with a biodegradable resin that is clear or with colour, and then cut to the size of a chair (18”), lounge chair (24”), loveseat (48”) or to the customer’s desire.  The cut can also be made at an angle to suit specific conditions.  After the cut, the woodchips extrusion is fastened to a stainless steel frame.  Finally, the chair is stamped with a best before date, indicating the amount of time it would take for it to biodegrade if left to the elements

SC2 Lounge Chair

SC2 is a spring rocker utilizing laminated wood to create a rocking motion when sat in. The legs are epoxy laminated, re-sawn white oak. The seat and ottoman are formed out of poplar bending plywood, finished in a walnut veneer, and joined with hidden metal rods. Research and testing was done to determine the most comfortable seating position in relation to the chair’s leg compression under load. Concealed steel plates are laminated into the chair seat and the leather pads attach to it magnetically, thus allowing the user to remove the pads if desired. When not in use the ottoman can be stored by sliding it smartly beneath the chair.  Inspiration was pulled from the mid-century modern movement and designers such as Eames, Aalto, and Brewer.

The Mood Bench. A real Hot Seat. Intended to be a humorous take on the idea of voluptuous furniture. It is a simple construction composed of a steel tube support frame with two layers of bent plywood forming the bench platform. The top layer is laminated with liquid crystal heat sensitive sheets that change color based off the temperature of whatever is in contact with them. Users will literally leave a temporary impression and could even leave graffiti with their finger. The bench becomes a fleeting record of its visitors, displaying sensual, ghostly impressions of their touch.
The “BACKFLIP” is a modular chair with a lock/release system that turns a traditional seated position into a personal work space. A flip of the back provides a surface perfect for laptop use, for example. Sets of multiple chairs can be used for impromptu meeting/dining/playing areas. The chair has a cast aluminum frame that makes it light, sturdy and recyclable. The seat and back are made of wood, such as walnut from sustainably managed forest, with cushions made of recyclable foam and natural fibers fabric.
Segment Rotation Seat is a dynamic, expandable and contractible, sitting experience.  A seat surface is created by joining multiple wood segments (four-segment option presented in images), then rotating segments for desired comfort and aesthetic appeal.  A person can sit forwards, backwards, or sideways; rest on their stomach or back, or rotate wood segments to positions that provide arm rests, back rests, or leg rests.  Wood segment scale and contour form was determined through ergonomic study and conforms nicely to human proportions.

Each wood segment is a fluid spatial volume consisting of five plywood layers and a ratcheting system that allows a rotating core to lock-in at 10 different positions.  A plywood coupler engages adjacent segment cores and properly spaces segments, while a threaded rod mechanically fastens the entire assembly.

Change and growth are significant features of Segment Rotation Seat.  Multiple wood segments could be combined to create a seating organism tens of feet long and provide uniquely adjustable individual resting places for large groups of people.
